LATAM to fly Geneva–São Paulo nonstop from April 2027
LATAM Airlines Brasil will start flying nonstop between Geneva and São Paulo from April 2027, giving Geneva its first direct link to South America. The route was announced on 30 October 2026 and confirmed by Geneva Airport.
The airline will fly three times a week using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Flights from Geneva will leave on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:05 p.m. and land in São Paulo at 6:55 p.m. Flights from São Paulo will leave on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 6:05 p.m. and arrive in Geneva at 9:55 a.m. the next morning.
The first flight from São Paulo is planned for Thursday 1 April 2027, with the first flight out of Geneva the next day, Friday 2 April 2027. Tickets go on sale on 1 November 2026. The new service is still subject to government approval, so the timetable could change before launch.
Today, Switzerland has only one nonstop passenger route to South America: SWISS flies daily between Zurich and São Paulo. Geneva will become LATAM Brasil’s 11th destination in Europe, joining cities including London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Lisbon and Milan.
The route is aimed at business travellers, diplomats and tourists, as well as people visiting family and friends. Geneva is a major international business and diplomatic centre, and São Paulo is LATAM’s main hub, with onward connections across South America.
The flights will also carry cargo in the aircraft’s hold. LATAM expects to offer 55 tonnes of cargo space a week from São Paulo to Geneva and 36 tonnes in the opposite direction. Medicines and other temperature-sensitive goods are among the shipments expected on the route.
Why it matters
A direct flight removes the need to change planes in another European city, saving travellers time and making the journey simpler. For businesses in Switzerland and Brazil, it also means faster links for meetings, trade and cargo, including medicines that need to be kept cool in transit.
What happens next
Tickets are due to go on sale on 1 November 2026. Travellers should watch for the final government approval and for LATAM to confirm the first flights before booking connecting travel around the new service.
