11 Killed, 33 Injured as Bus and Truck Collide on Depalpur Road Near Pakpattan
At least 11 people were killed and 33 others injured on Thursday, 5 November 2026, when a passenger bus collided with a truck-trailer on Depalpur Road near Pakpattan in Punjab. The bus was travelling from Multan to Kasur when it hit the truck coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the bus overturned, and 11 people died on the spot.
Rescue 1122 teams and police reached the site soon after the crash and began relief work. The dead and the injured were taken to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Pakpattan, where an emergency was declared so the injured could be treated at once. Officials have warned that the casualty figures may rise as the injured are treated.
What happened on Depalpur Road
The collision took place near a stop known as 17 SP Stop on Depalpur Road, according to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Umair Iqbal, as reported by The Express Tribune. The bus was on its way from Multan to Kasur, a journey that takes it through Pakpattan district in southern Punjab.
Among the dead were two uniformed personnel: Ali Hasnain of the Patrolling Police and Zahid Imam of the Para Force.
Deputy Commissioner Asif Raza and District Police Officer Javed Iqbal arrived at the scene to supervise the rescue and relief efforts. No cause for the crash has been established yet, and no investigation findings have been released, so early accounts of exactly how the two vehicles met should be treated as preliminary.
Why it matters
Deadly road crashes are a recurring tragedy on Punjab’s highways. Just two weeks earlier, a passenger bus hit a road divider and overturned in Rajanpur district, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens more. The Pakpattan crash is the second major bus accident in the province in under a fortnight, and it raises the same questions each time: about road conditions, vehicle fitness, driver fatigue, and enforcement of traffic rules on long intercity routes.
What happens next
The injured are being treated at DHQ Hospital Pakpattan, and rescue officials are expected to update the casualty figures as their condition becomes clear. Police are expected to open an investigation into the cause of the collision, including the condition of both vehicles and the state of the road at the crash site.
Findivoza will update this story as officials confirm more details.
