One dead, 14 injured in stampede at TikToker Mr Pattlo’s mehndi in Sialkot

One person was killed and 14 others were injured in a stampede at a TikToker’s wedding celebration in Sialkot on Saturday night, 31 October 2026, police and rescue officials said.

The mehndi ceremony and prize-distribution event for Muhammad Ansar Jatt, a popular TikToker from Sialkot district known as “Mr Pattlo”, was being held at Faraz Cricket Ground on Daska Road. A large crowd had gathered outside, drawn in part by a prize draw. When organisers opened the stadium gates, the crowd surged forward and many people fell.

The man who died was 30-year-old Muhammad Aqeel. Rescue 1122 said he died while being taken to hospital because of his critical condition. The injured, men aged between 22 and 51, came from several districts, including Narowal, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Khanewal, Okara, Sialkot, Gujrat and Bahawalpur. Most were discharged after first aid, while others remained under medical care at Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital.

Police and Rescue 1122 ran a joint rescue operation at the scene. District Emergency Officer Naveed Iqbal said the rescue service had not been told in advance about the large gathering, and that four ambulances and one motorcycle ambulance took part in the response. District Police Officer Dost Muhammad reached the site with a large police contingent and the Elite Force, and police took charge of security and crowd control.

Why it matters

The tragedy raises fresh questions about crowd safety at large public events in Pakistan, where popular social media figures can draw thousands of fans to a venue with little warning. The organisers opened the gates ahead of schedule, according to the district police chief, and the rescue service said it had not been informed about the gathering in advance.

What happens next

The district police chief said all aspects of the incident will be examined and appropriate legal action will be taken. The event was stopped after the stampede, and permission for the remaining wedding celebrations was withdrawn. Early reports differed on the number of injured: police put the figure at 14, while some local residents said more than 40 people were hurt, with some taken to private clinics before rescue teams arrived. The official toll may therefore change as more information comes in.
